It has been 6 days since my last upxdate, sorry to all my blogs readers. I’ve been quite bussy for few days, i hope i can get back regularly make a post here now. Ok now i want to talk about the benefits of social networking websites to promote our Blogs and drive more readers. Social networking websites are online communities to make it easier for internet users to meet and communicate with each other from anywhere in the world.
Most of the social networking websites work to connect internet users who have the same goals and common interests, so there is a good chance that our online friends will enjoy reading our blog. Well we have to let them know about our blogs/website.
We have many options to promoting our blog using social networking websites. We can include a link to our blog in our community profile or profile page. This will leads other community members to checkout our blog, only if they wish to do so. The other way is to inform your online friends of your blog through private messages.
Once you join a social networking website we should easily be able to communicate with other community members. Sending each of our friends a private message with information and a link to our blog tends to be more effective than just placing a link in our profile or on your profile page.
It is often told that our social networking profile is the key to making and finding friends online. This is because, in most cases, internet users are looking to connect with someone who has the same goals, views, beliefs, and interests as they do. That is why social networking profiles are not only important, but they are needed.
Since anyone in the world, can see our social networking profile, on most social networking websites, we are advised to be cautious. Essentially, this means that instead of focusing on what you should put in your online profile, you should be focusing on what not to put. This is one the best ways to protect your safety, both on and offline.
Although danger does exist with networking online, it also exists with networking out in the real world. As when we are meeting friends at a bar, school, or work, we are advised to proceed with caution online. By being aware of our surroundings and who we are talking to, we should be able safely enjoying social networking online.
By joining a social networking website, especially one that is popular and has a large number of members, we should be able to generate interest in our business, including the products or services that we sell. Try to learned everything that we feel we need to learn, about social networking online, we can begin to search for networking communities to join. This can easily be done by performing a standard internet search using Google or Yahoo.

Social networking site are good platform for promote you blog. I had read some where else about it. Many people are doing this.
In my opinion, the most popular social networking website currently is Facebook. I make a quick search and found there are around 27 million people in UK currently using Facebook. Imagine what can it do to promote your blog.
Agree with your point that we need to be careful when posting a profile in Social Networking Website. Just to be on the safe side.
To be honest, I would suggest taking Twitter off of the list. This site, in my opinion has the ability to make a company, or business look unprofessional and sort of juvenile. My 13 year old daughter uses Twitter to broadcast how much in love she is with the guy who plays Edward in the teen beloved Twilight movie.
It’s just hard to take a business seriously that is using it for business.
Other places like facebook and myspace are more professional sites. those should be toward the top of the list.

It’s a good source of traffic, provided you’re active in these on-line communities. Simply creating a profile and putting a link there might give you some link juice, maybe even traffic but that’s it.

Thanks for the great list. I’ll copy it into our corporate Wiki. Nevertheless, my experience proves that social network traffic may be useful only for ad-based (PPC) sites, not for sites which sell something or run PPA ads.
Based on my experiences, social media sites are the best ways to promote our contests. I have had success using Twitter and Facebook. I have also found that people are willing to retweet our message because everyone would like to know about a contest.

Another word of caution, there are users who do not appreciate receiving such messages, even if it is about something they are aware of. So avoid overdoing it, or else you’d be reported for spamming.
If you are a Facebook or MySpace user you know the power of these social networks. And the fact that everybody you know, and there cousin are active users. To start promoting your blog on Facebook you can you put your blogs URL in your status, and basic info on your profile

i personally use the social networking site http://www.zovue.com cause its more private than other social networks and you cannot be searched, if you want to be more anonymous.
Only the friends that you invite can see your profile, if you want to be secure

I am also a fan of social networking. Twitter, facebook, blogcatalog and any other sites where you can advertise your blog posts. Twitter mostly because with twitter and twitterfeed I can setup to send a blog post to twitter and than send it out to every single social network I am a member of.
