SearchWiki Make Your Search Personalized

Recently Google announced SearchWiki, This is a new set of functionality that users with Google accounts can use to customize their search results on any given search. SearchWiki allows users to move specific results up or down in rankings so that they appear in the preferred order when the same search is done in the future.

Just logged in to your Google account and do a web search. SearchWiki also allows us to post comments on results, such as notes to ourself, but we can also see what other people have said about them as well. These notes will only affect our search results pages and do not impact the ranking for other users when they search on Google. You can add and remove sites to your liking. So for example, if you want to search for your own web presence, but you want to filter out other that aren’t your blogs, you can do so.

Here is tutorial about it SearchWiki 101: An Illustrated Guide and bellow is the video about SearchWiki :

  4. I can see how the comments would help. But I am not sure how changing the ranking results would help that much in the long run. I don’t use exactly the same search terms each time I search. So it would seem to be almost a wasted effort.
