Simple Tricks To Protect Our Affiliate Links

When we Join become affiliate marketers the toughest problems faced is getting the customer to click on our affiliate link. If the prospect customer knows that it is an affiliate link, which means that somebody is going to get money from the products they offer. And that leads to one of two results: the prospect customer decides not to buy or chops off our affiliate ID and purchases directly from the company, taking away our commission.

So to get our prospect to click on your affiliate link, we must protect your affiliate links. There are few ways we can protect our affiliate links. One way is use tracking links for our affiliate links. These can hide our affiliate links with a link that we can use to track clicks on your link.

A second way is shorten our affiliate URL. Several free URL shortening services are available to help us do this. Here is some free URL shortening services
1. TinyURL
3. notlong
4. EZurl
5. Fhurl

Next, we can use a redirect script. This method is often used by professional marketers and is very effective. This link “replaces” our affiliate link and when clicked automatically redirects to our affiliate link, usually in a matter of seconds. Make sure to use one that doesn’t display our affiliate link after the redirect is completed. You can use the this scripts

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN”

“http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”>

<html xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”><head>

<meta http-equiv=”Content-Type”

content=”text/html; charset=iso-8859-1″ />

<title>Product Title</title>

<META name=”robots” content=”noindex,nofollow”>

</head><frameset rows=”100%,*” border=”0″>

<frame src=”http://www.your-affiliate-link.com/” frameborder=”0″ />

<frame frameborder=”0″ noresize />

</frameset> document.removeEventListener(’click, clickHandler, true);

</html>

Copied the script above , to notepad and save as for example go.html

A fourth method is we can create our own affiliate page on our server. We can purchase one of several software products to help do this. The software codes our affiliate link, which is then copied and pasted to a text document, saved and then uploaded to our server. When clicked, this link activates your affiliate link, just as if the prospect had clicked on it.

And finally the fifth way to protect your affiliate link is to use a sub-domain. By setting up a sub-domain on our server for our affiliate link, we direct traffic to our site, which in turn, is directed by our affiliate link to the product’s sales page.

This a valuable info. I did not realize there would be people interested in removing your ID. That is just wrong. Thanks for posting this

I will try it, thanks

Good job, i only used TinyURL before, now i have other choices.

Thanks.

Great Post. I have been using TinyURL for a while in some of my blogs and it was converting pretty well. The problem with TinyURL is that it does not provide us with any stats. I have been using recently BudURL and it is fantastic.

You can find out more on one of my recent post:
